Minister for Information and Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that the provincial government was still ready for talks with the militants for peace in the province despite killing of our hundreds of workers and destroying government properties, but they should first have to surrender their weapons.
This he said, while addressing the IDPs of Bajour Agency at Jalozai Camp Nowshera on Wednesday. He, on this occasion expressed sorrow over the tragic deaths of the IDPs in the camp due to fire. The IDPs on this occasion demanded early release of innocent people, provision of safe route for the stuck off people and provision of basic facilities in the camp.
The minister on this occasion demanded of the USA and its allies to stop bombing and incursion into the tribal belts as the people were fed up and they could no more tolerate the killing of innocent Pukhtoons. He added that despite the strong opposition of the USA and its allies, the provincial government signed an agreement with the militants and released Sufi Muhammad, as the government wants to save its Pukhtoon brethren from the trouble.
He, however, expressed sorrow that the militants could not honour its commitments and continues the killing of innocent people. The information minister while expressing profound grief over the tragic deaths due to fire in the IDPs camp at Jalozai, expressed his anger over the delay in reaching ambulance to the spot and said that the inquiry has been ordered in this regard and the responsible would be brought to book.
He said that the IDPs left their homes, therefore the government would do all its best to provide them maximum facilities in the camps but added that facilities like home were difficult enough. The minister however promised for removing their hardships and resolution of their demands on priority basis. He added that he himself come to the spot to see their grievances and also to know the reasons of their agitation and road blockade.
