The ambassador of Pakistan in Iran M.B Abbasi has stressed upon the young generation for their complete transformation into the modern age and added that it was very essential not only to meet the global challenges but also make the country more prosperous.
This he observed while addressing a reception arranged in his honour by Jam Mitha Khan Kalhoro, a member of Sindh Kalhora Tanzeem at Gymkhana Hyderabad on Sunday.
M.B Abbasi said that modern and qualitative education was the only key of success by which we can compete in this modern age of science and technology. He said that due to faster communication facilities, the global competition has been arrived at doorstep and we must prepare to meet the same. He said that, those nations, who run parallel to modern world, could only survive. He urged upon the education institutions to shoulder their responsibilities in such a way so that we may not remain behind the other developing countries.
M.B Abbasi who had been remained chief economist in Government of Sindh suggested for equal development among all stakeholders of each area to ensure balanced socio-economic development.
Renowned intellectuals Professor Aijaz Qureshi lauded the services of M.B Abbasi in the capacity of provincial secretary industries, chief economist of Sindh and other different positions in other organisations. Qureshi said that Abbasi not only helped a lot to the University of Sindh in promoting qualitative education and capacity building of teaching staff while working as Chief economist but also strive hard to promote diplomatic image of Pakistan at abroad. Dr Shafqat Abbasi, in his address while recalling rule of Kalhora on Sindh said that Sindh was more prosperous during that period. He said that Kalhora rulers had art of good governance and utilisation of manpower, and had promoted the irrigation and cultivation system.
He said that at that period Sindh had been producing surplus wheat production. He said that Sindh gave birth to the brave soldiers, talented technocrats and professionals in each field, who served the country at large. The president Sindh Abadgar Board Abdul Majeed Nizamani, Major Mohammad Umar (rtd.), chief engineer Right Bank Aijaz Ahmed, chief engineer left bank Mohammad Haroon Memon, Imdad Ali Avesi. Zaheer Ahmed, renowned writer Ghulam Nabi Mughal and other elite citizens were also present.
