The district administration organised a walk here in order to create awareness among masses about environment-related issues. The walk was organised in collaboration with the Anglers Association of AJK, a non-governmental organisation, AJK Health Department and the contractors of fishing in Mangla Lake. The walk started from the under-construction Bhutto Park and culminated at Sukhian Bank of the picturesque Mangla Dam Lake.
The participants were carrying colourful banners and placards inscribed with slogans about the role of the society for healthy environment. Hundreds of people belonging to all walks of life including men, women and college and school students, government officials, lawyers, journalists, members of the business fraternity participated in the walk.
Addressing the participants of the walk, speakers including Divisional Commissioner Ehsan Khalid Kiyani, ADC (G) Shahid Ayub, President Anglers Association Ramzan Dutt Advocate, Zulfiqar Ahmed, Sheikh Sarfraz Ahmed, Master Allah Ditta and others highlighted role of the general public for healthy environment.
