National Assembly standing committees' chairpersons elected

Meetings of the National Assembly standing committees on Rules of procedure, & privileges, defence and interior were held in Parliament House on Tuesday for election of their chairpersons.Nadeem Afzal Chan, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho and Abdul Qadir Patel were unanimously elected chairpersons of standing committees on rules of procedure, & privileges, defence and interior, respectively.
Secretary, National Assembly, Karamat Hussian Niazi, conducted the elections of the standing committees. The chairpersons after their unanimous election thanked their fellow parliamentarians in reposing confidence in them by electing them as chairpersons.
They assured them that with concerted efforts; they would make the committees useful, effective and purposeful. All members of the committees congratulated the elected chairpersons and assured of their co-operation for smooth functioning of the standing committees. The meetings were attended by Khursheed Ahmad Shah, Minister for Labour and Manpower/Chief Whip and members of the respective standing committees.-PR
