Raw sugar futures on ICE Futures US at 1325 GMT. March raw sugar contract off 0.30 cent, or 2.26 percent, at 12.96 cents per lb. Trading from 12.94 to 13.26 cents. Volume at 11,055 lots. Sugar down in sympathy with weaker energy markets. Stronger dollar adding further pressure, said brokers.
The Indian government has formally changed its sugar import policy. Raw sugar can now be imported both by manufacturers and merchants who would subsequently export white sugar.
