The government of Sindh has launched a new initiative titled Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program (BBSYDP) for addressing the issues of poverty and unemployment among the youth of Pakistan through Human Resource Development in the province.
The provincial government has selected National Institute of Design & Analysis (NIDA) as one of its partners in this connection, which will design training programmes to enhance various skills for youth. Project Director, NIDA, Syed Anwar Ali Pervaz, and Provincial Co-ordinator of Provincial Co-ordination Unit, Dr Noor-ul-Haque, signed the document for collaboration in Karachi.
Under the contract, NIDA-Karachi will train 960 students in ten different certification courses over a period of six months in Karachi, Hyderabad and Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah). This contract with NIDA will equip the youth with appropriate skills that will open new avenues of employment in local and international job market and also help them to uplift their overall socio-economic conditions.
