Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas, Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira, has expressed the hope that Indo-Pak dialogue process, which was adversely affected after Mumbai attacks, will resume soon and all outstanding issues including Kashmir issue will be resolved in a peaceful way.
Talking to media men on the eve of a reception meeting hosted in his honour late on Friday, the minister said that bilateral talks between India and Pakistan are required to be converted into the trilateral talks to ensure the early peaceful resolution of the much-delayed Kashmir conflict through the participation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kaira continued that no doubt, the Mumbai carnage badly affected the peace process between India and Pakistan. He recalled that the peace process gained momentum for the normalisation of relations between India and Pakistan after President Asif Ali Zardari's gesture of optimism regarding improving relations between the two countries and this gesture was highly entertained in India as well.
Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira said that Indian leadership was well aware of the fact, they accept the reality and the entire world community was stressing upon New Delhi for openly accepting the reality that spirit of freedom of the people of Jammu and Kashmir could not be suppressed by force through any of the strongest possible means and tactics.
The minister pointed out that Indian government was satisfied of all possible steps initiated by Pakistan vis-a-vis the arrests of certain alleged accused of Mumbai attacks and New Delhi was fully acknowledging the co-operation responded by Islamabad about investigations into Mumbai incidents.
Kaira further said that international community was also appreciating and admired the sincere steps taken by Pakistan about the investigations into Mumbai attacks. Kaira said that in these circumstances, the government of Pakistan was hopeful that the Indian leadership would soon return for the resumption of composite dialogue with Islamabad for the settlement of all outstanding issues including Kashmir issue through the result-oriented talks.
