Three dacoits were killed in an encounter with CIA Model Town Police near Griffon Ground, Mughalpura, here on Sunday. A few days back, the police had arrested two dacoits of a criminal gang - Waqas and Ramzan involved in a number of dacoity, robbery and other criminal cases.
The police took both dacoits along and conducted a raid to nab their accomplices in Mughalpura, which was turned into an encounter between the police and the other members of the gang. As a result, both the dacoits in police custody and another from the opposite side were killed on the spot, while remaining two accomplices managed to escape from the scene. Their bodies have been shifted to city morgue for autopsy, said police sources.
