Four held for Wapda transformers, wires theft

CIA Police, Model Town have arrested four criminals of a gang involved in a number of cases of theft of transformers and electric wire of WAPDA, and seized two transformers, cable, one cycle and illegal weapons from them. The accused has confessed theft in a number of cases, during preliminary interrogation.
According to details, on directives of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervaz Rathore, SP CIA Muhammad Umer Virk constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP CIA Model Town Muhammad Khalid Abu Bakar.
The team collected particulars of the gang and arrested its four felons on a tip-off. The criminals of this gang used to steal the electric Wire and Transformers in the night and flee away and sold them at cheaper prices. The criminals were history sheeters and four cases have also been traced against them at PS Kahna, Kot Lakhpat and Factory Area. Police have recovered two transformers, cable, one cycle, one pistol and bullets from their possession.
Those arrested were identified as Ghulam Nabi alias Pathani, Muhammd Rafique alias Feeqa, Abdul Majeed and Muhammad Boota. Further interrogation is in progress. CCPO Muhammad Pervez Rathore has announced cash prize and commendatory certificates for the police raiding team.
