The government has announced the promotion of Director General Maritime Security Agency (MSA), Commodore Tehseen Ullah Khan, to the rank of Rear Admiral with immediate effect. An announcement to this effect was made through a ISPR (Navy) press release issued here on Sunday. It said that Rear Admiral Tehseen Ullah Khan was commissioned in Pakistan Navy on December 1, 1977.
Upon attaining his commission, he was selected to undergo training at Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, United Kingdom. Later, he joined the submarine service and served onboard submarines in various capacities. He specialised in Arms of Submarines from France in 1986. He commanded two submarines, PNS/M Ghazi and Mangro. The Admiral's staff appointments include Defence and Naval Advisor in Malaysia, Director Maritime Affairs and Director Submarine Operations.
He has been an instructor at National Defence University (NDU) and also served as Commandant Naval War College, Lahore.
Before being appointed as DG MSA, he was serving as Chief Staff Officer (CSO) in Fleet Headquarters. Admiral Tehseen is a graduate of Naval Staff College and has done Armed Forces War Course. He also holds a master degree in War Studies from Quaid-e-Azam University.
