The Sindh Graduates Association (SGA) in collaboration with Mehran Cultural Group Dubai has started work for eradication of Hepatitis B and C disease in 12 districts of Sindh. The SGA in this connection organised couple of workshop cum training to take the programme on the disease forward effectively.
One of those was the workshop on January 17, 2009 on Awareness on Laboratory Diagnosis and Treatment was held at Sindhi Language Authority, Hyderabad. Volunteers, activists of SGA Branches, representatives of Fakhr-e-Imdad Foundation, Mirpurkhas, Health Department and the Government of Sindh participated in the event. 12 of the participating Focal Persons were selected for 16 Centres in 12 Districts of the province.
Following the above workshop, SGA held another training on Hands at SGA Mazhar Resource Centre, Karachi on February 14, 2009 wherein, 12 Focal Persons of 12 District participated. During the training programme, Demonstration, Blood Sample Collection, Technical Management and its finding was carried out by the Qualified Laboratory Technician under the supervision of Senior Pathologist, JPMC, Professor K A Shakoor. Hepatitis Kits were distributed among the Focal Persons, who started their work in their respective Centres. Besides, printed literature in Sindhi and Urdu was also distributed for dissemination of awareness among the concerned Community. The above programs were conducted.
