The Lahore High Court (LHC) adjourned to March 05 for cross-examination of witnesses in an election petition seeking disqualification of Muhammad Ajmal, MPA from PP-63, Faisalabad. The petition was filed by PPP Punjab president, Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan, a defeated candidate from the same constituency.
Petitioner alleged that Ajmal obtained a fake degree of Shahadat-e-Almia from Darul-Aloom Mehmoodia, Bannu equivalent to MA. Earlier, Ajmal had requested the court to stay the proceedings against him as decision about the madarsas' degrees was pending before the apex court but his appeal was dismissed.
