The profit after tax of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has declined to Rs 649.784 million in the half year period ended December 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 1,427.166 million earned in the corresponding period in 2007.
The board of directors in its meeting held on Thursday declared that the company's earning per share has decreased to Rs 1.18 in the period under review against Rs 2.60 in the same period a year back.
According to the financial results, the company's gas sales increased to Rs 77.010 billion in the half year period in 2008 against Rs 61.330 billion in the same period in 2007. The cost of gas sold increased to Rs 72.032 billion against Rs 51.071 billion. The company's profit before tax stood at Rs 1.263 billion in the half year period in 2008 against Rs 2.478 billion in the same period in 2007.
