Lahore High Court was moved on Friday against the imposition of Governor's Rule in Punjab by the president. The petitioner, Tariq Aziz advocate, has made the federal and Punjab governments, speaker Punjab assembly and former chief minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif as respondents in the petition.
Advocate raised four points in his petition stating that the notification does not contain the reasons for the imposition of Governor's rule, as per the Constitution, it is necessary the detail reasons be mentioned. It is based on mala fide and without lawful authority.
It is unjust and unreasonable and it is violation of the articles 2 (a), 4 and 5 of the Constitution. He has requested the court to declare the imposition of Governor's rule as unconstitutional and illegal.
