'Local bodies role vital in rural development'

Local bodies' institutions are playing a vital role for infrastructure development, especially in rural areas. District Nazim Muzaffargarh Malik Allah Dad Khar, while talking to newsmen on Friday, appreciated that the powers of local bodies had been restored. "District government system is helping the people to solve their problems at the grassroots level".
The DN said members of the National Assembly, those of the provincial assembly and local bodies representatives could work efficiently while remaining within their respective purviews. He thanked President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari for extending the term of the LB institutions for six months and restoring the powers of the Nazims.
