Pakistan has been the victim of the downfall in sports and particularly cricket, which still has got some hopes for its betterment People were biased against Dr Naseem Ashraf's administration because he banned the Pakistani superstars like Abdul Razzaq, Rana Naveed, Imran Nazir and others, who signed their contracts with Indian Cricket League (ICL) and played for it for their better livelihood.
The reason behind the ban was the conflict between Indian Cricket Board and ICL as Indian Cricket Board endorsed it as a rebel cricket which Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reinforced by adopting the same practice without viewing the Pakistan's future of cricket.
Most probably because the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the strongest and wealthiest among boards internationally and being an Asian board, it could have helped Pakistan for revival of hosting international cricket events in Pakistan.
After the replacement of Naseem Ashraf's board, people's hearts were filled with new hopes, as the new board comprised renowned Pakistani cricketers. But the present board is still not up to the mark, since it also did not lift the ban from the ICL players and continued to support BCCI.
In spite of all those butterings, the interests of PCB went in vain. Pakistan was deprived of hosting of champions trophy. Moreover, Indian Premier League (IPL) has suspended majority of Pakistani players. Consequently, the banned Pakistani ICL players knocked the doors to get the rights to play for Pakistan. The Sindh High Court has allowed them to play domestic cricket, but the question is "will these players be able to play international cricket?"
The PCB is facing fiasco in controlling the issues of cricket efficiently. Being cricketers, they should think sincerely about the future of Pakistan's cricket rather than begging BCCI.
