On February 25 morning a 19-year-old student Muhammad Sohail of a textile institute was run over by a speedy water tanker on the main road, Korangi Industrial Area near Singer Chowrangi. Such road accidents in Korangi Industrial Area become frequent and these mishaps usually occur due to speedy and reckless driving of water tankers, dumpers and other heavy vehicles.
Traffic police does not take notice of such accidents and if they do it is only half-heartedly. The DIG Traffic, Transport Minister and City Nazim should co-ordinate and see such accidents do not recur. We appeal to Sindh Government to compensate the bereaved family for this irreparable loss from the funds maintained for this purpose.
