The PPP took out a protest rally in Jacobabad, on Monday, against destruction of the portrait of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and alleged vandalism at the site of BB's assassination (martyrdom) in Rawalpindi. The rally, under the leadership of PPP's District General Secretary Abdul Sattar Brohi, marched from the PPP office to the press club.
Supporters of the PPP chanted slogans against PML-N leaders. Addressing the rally, Abdul Sattar, Deedar Jakhrani, Bahadur Mugheri and others strongly condemned the PML -N's "negative attitude" towards the PPP and its leadership and said that the verdict disqualifying the Sharif brothers was given by the court not by President Asif Ali Zardari and that the PML-N's allegations against the PPP had no ground. They said that the PML-N workers' act of tearing down Benazir Bhutto's portrait was condemnable and that such activities would not be tolerated by PPP workers.
