The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday announced some changes in the list of imported items, on which some 35 per cent cash margin has been imposed. SBP have waived some 70 items from the cash margin list, while some 145 have been added in the list. Sources said that side changes have been made on the requests of the business community.
SBP ISSUED FOLLOWING CIRCULAR: Please refer to BPRD Circular Letter No 34 dated November 20, 2008 on the captioned subject. It has been decided to make following amendments in the Minimum Margin Restriction on Import Letters of Credit Circular Letter;
1. Cash Margin exemption previously granted to HS Codes 8702, 8704, 8707, 8708, & 8714 vide above referred Circular Letter has been withdrawn.
