The Security of federal capital was put on red alert after threatening emails were received by an Arab embassy and intelligence alert regarding the terrorist attacks in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. It was learnt that an Arab embassy located in diplomatic enclave informed the Islamabad Police that they had received 14 threatening emails in which sender has threatened the terrorist attack on embassy like Lahore attack.
Police sources in Islamabad confirmed that Arab embassy officials have informed the Islamabad Police about threatening emails. The Inspector General of Islamabad Police has ordered to further beef up the security of embassies in diplomatic enclave particularly the embassies of Arab countries were put on high vigil of the security forces. It was also learnt that intelligence reports have been received by Interior Ministry revealing that the attacks like Lahore will be repeated in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The security on Islamabad International Airport and other important installations, five star hotels, diplomatic enclave, Red Zone was further tightened to avert any such act in capital. The intelligence reports received on Wednesday evening were alarming and all law enforcement agencies were put on red alert and vigilance of the twin cities was enhanced besides all over country airports and important installations were brought under heavy blanket of security, sources in Interior Ministry said.
