The Finance Ministry informed the National Assembly on Thursday that acting chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Salman Ali Shaikh is drawing the salary and perks of a Commissioner without any increase on appointment as acting chairman.
He said that he is drawing a basic salary of Rs 334,800 per month along with normal benefits like house rent allowances, car and telephone. He said that being the senior most Commissioner, has been appointed as Chairman, SECP on acting charge basis on January 12, 2009 on completion of the tenure of the previous Chairman Razi-ur-Rehman Khan. It is pertinent to note that acting chairman SECP, Salman Ali Shaikh is drawing salary and perks of a Commissioner without any increase on appointment as acting chairman.
