US arabica coffee futures and US cocoa futures slipped early Thursday as investors took their cue from a firmer dollar and took profits from the previous sessions gains, traders said. Arabica coffee for May delivery down 1.45 cents, or 1.3 percent, at $1.0725 per lb by 9:29 am EST (1429 GMT). Range from 1.0685 to 1.0890 cents per lb. May volume at a light 2,803 lots.
The rest ranged from 1.30 cent to 1.45 lower. Benchmark May cocoa down $43 at $2,295 per tonne by 9:48 am. May volume at 3,433 lots. Session range from $2,270 to $2,338. The rest $45 to $63 lower.
