Jashn-e-Baharan will be celebrated here from March 11 to 23 for which various colourful events were being arranged for the amusement and recreation of the citizens. This was informed by DCO Saeed Wahlah while presiding over a meeting here on Thursday which was held to review the arrangements regarding Jashn-e-Baharan.
The DCO directed he concerned officers to start working for devising comprehensive plan immediately for holding the Jashn-e-Baharana celebrations keeping in view the necessary requirement to make it most attractive and interesting for the people. Reviewing the various aspects of the cultural and recreational events, he said that city should be given festivity look from these programmes during Jashn-e-Baharan.
He directed that the security concerns should also be kept in view while selecting the venue of the different programmes. It was decided during the meeting that horse & Cattle show, family and children fair, meena bazaar, flower show, traditional sports, drama festival, painting, Qirat, Naat and calligraphy competitions, musical show, food street and other variety programme would be arranged besides decorating the Canal Rakh Branch, important city roads and buildings with beautiful lights and other ornamental items.
The DCO said that co-operation for arranging the different events in this regard would be extended by Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FCCI). He directed the Resident Director Arts Council, DO Sports, Assistant Director Local Government, TMOs to accelerate their efforts for finalising the Jashn-e-Baharan programmes without any delay.The representative of the FCCI Mian Zafar Iqbal, Waheed Khaliq Ramay and Shahid Ahmed informed the meeting that the holding of Expo exhibition in connection with Jashn-e-Baharan programmes was also considering.
They assured their full co-operation for celebration of Jashn-e-Baharan. EDOs Revenue, Agriculture and Municipal Services, Malik Aslam, Rana Farman Ali, Ashiq Dogar, DO(Coord) Syed Mubashar Hussain, DO Sports Zubair Anwar, ADLG Qari Zia-ul-Haq, Resident Director Arts Council Asif Chaudhry, DDO(R.) City Mohsin Rasheed, TMOs and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
