KAMPALA: Uganda's coffee exports rose 62 percent year-on-year in June, helped by an extra crop harvest from newly maturing trees, the state-run Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) said on Tuesday.
Uganda shipped 430,565 60-Kilogramme bags of coffee in June, up from 266,337 bags the same month last year.
UCDA said the increase especially from robusta variety, which is Uganda's predominant variety, was underpinned by newly planted coffee that has started yielding.
