The Karachi Port handled 204,813 tonnes of cargo including 127,528 tonnes of import and 77,285 tonnes of export, 4,641 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The freights comprised of 139,440 tonnes of dry cargo including 90,009 tonnes of general cargo; 24,300 tonnes of coal; 25,140 tonnes of cement and 65,364 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Ten ships namely Apl Brisbane, Jonathan P, Daffodil, Mol Silver Fern, Lucky Carrier, Team Al-Emirates, Ashraf B, African Glory, Iron Monger 3 and Asdrubal sailed out to sea during the reported period. Fourteen vessels viz Tan Binh-28, Nememcha, Salome, Daffodil, Apl Brisbane, Mol Silver Fern, Apl Yokohama, Sima Sahba, Taban-1, Deja Bhum, African Glory, Aliki G, Valle azzurra and NCC Rabigh are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Sima Sahba, Lady Rana, Alliance St. Louis and Aliki G expected to sail on Wednesday while another two vessels viz Salome and NCC Rabigh are expected to sail on Thursday. Five vessels viz Apl Sokhna, Global Prosperity, Wan Hai-510, Hyundai Duke and Alliance St. Louis due to arrive on Wednesday while eight ships namely Al-Soor-II, Suzanne, Kyriakoula, Constancy, Ts Dubai, Freedom, Lanka Mahapola and Thor Irene are due to arrive on Thursday.
Three ships, edible oil vessel MT Stolt Megami, bulk cargo carrier MV Young Huan and container ship Nedlloyd Asia sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. A total of eight ships namely ACX Rafflesia, Maple Galaxy, Fair Chem Charger, Alaska-II, Alexi-III, Lion Princess, Sc Dalian and Al-Salam-II carrying containers, palm oil, cement, chemicals and diesel oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Six vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Asia, MV Nobleses, MV Jaipur, MV Young Huan, MT Stolt Nanmi and MT Swat are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, sun flower seeds, palm oil and crude oil respectively during the report period.
Four ships CV ACX Rafflesia, CV CMA CGM Berlioz, MT Lion Princess and MT Sc Dalian scheduled to load/offload containers, cement and chemicals are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Wednesday. One vessel MV Jasmine Ace carrying wheat is due to arrive on Thursday.
