The average price of Bangladesh teas rose nearly 2.0 percent to 113.33 taka ($1.64) per kg at the weekly auction on Wednesday, brokers said. Some 673,525 kg were sold at 113.33 taka per kg on average, up 2.09 taka from the last sale. The withdrawal percentage was 2.80.
Buyers from Pakistan and Bangladesh including exporters mainly for the Commonwealth of Independent States, participated in the auction. Different grades were sold between 65 taka and 170 taka per kg. The last and final weekly auction of the outgoing season will be held on March 17 with some 231,000 kg on offer.
