Federal Minister for Housing and Works Rahmatullah Kakar has said that the government would launch low income housing scheme at District Multan under the Prime Ministers Housing Scheme, which would mitigate the shelter problems of the homeless people of the areas.
He was presiding over a high level meeting to review the progress on the ongoing development activities being undertaken in various cities for the construction of housing units under the Prime Ministers Housing programme, here Thursday morning.
The Prime Minister during his visit to Multan in May last had announced low income housing scheme at Multan district and directed the Ministry of Housing and Works to take necessary steps for its early implementation.
The Minister directed the concerned authorities to gear up their efforts for acquiring land for the proposed housing scheme in various locations of Multan district with a view to early kick off the housing scheme. Under the housing scheme seven marlas plots would be given to the government employees of BS 1 to 16 and general public on affordable price.-PR
