Deteriorating law and order situation badly affects Karachi University activities
Academic activities at Karachi University have been badly affected due to deteriorating law and order situation in the metropolis. Classes remained closed from Monday, March 09 to Wednesday, March 11, 2009 due to protest by one of the students organisations against inflammatory graffiti on the walls of the campus.
Sources at KU told Business Recorder that classes were partially opened but many teachers could not deliver lecturers due to very low attendance. They said that students were unable to attend classes due to complete closure of some of the city roads for hours. "Evening programme of the university remained paralysed because of low attendance," they said. They said that the university administration was trying its best for restoring academic activities.
