Artificial intelligence which is expected to play a huge role in shaping one’s future, has recently led Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk into a brawl with each other.

The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk appears to be reluctant about AI taking over humans. On the other hand, the Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg seems to be quite pro-AI.

It started on Sunday, when in a Facebook Live video Q&A session Zuckerberg was questioned regarding Musk’s calls for proactive regulation of AI before robots become too smart that they can be considered a threat to humanity. Musk answered, “With AI especially, I’m really optimistic. People who are naysayers and try to drum up these doomsday scenarios, I just, I don’t understand it. It’s really negative and in some ways I actually think it is pretty irresponsible.”

Musk responded back on Twitter on Tuesday accusing Zuckerberg to be out of his element. Musk wrote, “I’ve talked to Mark about this. His understanding of the subject is limited.”

Where Zuckerberg seemed optimistic about artificial intelligence and called Musk’s dire warnings overblown, Musk was pessimistic about the idea, as per LA Times.

At National Governors Association, Musk exclaimed, “I have exposure to the very cutting edge AI, and I think people should be really concerned about it. I keep sounding the alarm bell. But until people see robots going down the street killing people, they don’t know how to react because it seems so ethereal.”

Musk even pointed out the issue of AI in the meeting probably to raise a ‘fundamental risk to the existence of civilization’.

Whereas, Zuckerberg mentioned that the advantages of AI far outweigh any potential consequences. “If you’re arguing against AI, then you’re arguing against safer cars that are not going to have accidents. And you’re arguing against being able to better diagnose people when they’re sick. I just don’t see how in good conscience some people can do that.”

He added, “People who are arguing for slowing down the process of building AI, I just find that really questionable. I have a hard time wrapping my head around that,” reported Silicon Valley Business Journal.

Moreover, both of the tech firms are using the technology on different projects. Where Zuckerberg has a full team of AI researchers for developing voice-and-face-recognition programs, Musk’s company is making use of the technology to improve self-driving features.
