Reinstatement of deposed Chief Justice: business community hails Prime Minister decision
Business community has hailed the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilanis decision to reinstate the deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry. Talking to Business Recorder, President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Anjum Nisar has appreciated Prime Minister decision of restoring judges, as it will have long impact on Pakistan economic and improving country perception abroad.
He said that after the decision of restoring Justice Iftikhar Chaudhri stock exchange has showing positive sing, which indicated that business community has welcomed the decision. He also appreciated government decision to release containers held by law enforcing agencies to block road. He said that during last 3 to 4 days business community suffused huge losses due to held up containers of exports goods, vegetables, industrial raw materials etc.
He hoped that the decision would bring stability and improve deteriorating economic conditions. Chairman Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (Kati), Mian Zahid Hussain said that it is a very good decision and in the interest of the country and economy. He said that since last two years the country is facing very uncertain conditions with affecting industries, trade, education and all other sectors.
He hoped that condition will improve and Pakistan perception, which was tarnished abroad, will be improved considerably. He hoped that PML-N and PPP might work together on economic agenda for regaining its lost export market and restart its closed industrial units. Chairman, Federal B Area Association of Trade and Industry (FBAATI) Idrees Gigi has welcomed the decision of government to restore deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry.
He was of the view that Iftikhar Chaudhri has to be mover responsibility now to provide justice to masses without favouring any one. He said that a number of political particles including PML N supported him and now a case of disqualification of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif is likely to come up before Supreme Court. He noted that the business activities which was hitting hard due to political turmoil and judges issues has started showing positive sign and stock markets have performed better.
Meanwhile in a joint press statement President Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Sultan Ahmed Chawla, President SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry and former President of FPCCI Tariq Sayeed, and President of Indo-Pak Chamber of Commerce and Industry and former President of FPCCI S M. Munir along with other business leaders hailed the decision of the Government to reinstate the deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry.
They expressed their full confidence that after the resolution of this problem the country will enjoy peace and prosperity as a result of political stability and believed that Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry would endeavour his best to usher in an era of justice in the country which will go a long way to solve the political turmoil and economic challenges being faced by the country.
It was further emphasised that the political forces should now sit and work together and focus on the resolution of all other issues as well, to strengthen the democratic process and put the economy back on track to ensure a positive environment for business and investment so that the masses of the country could progress and prosper.
President Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) Mian Anees Ahmed Shaikh and Chairman Multan Dry Port Trust Mian Tanweer Ahmed Shaikh in a joint statement have welcomed the prime minister statement of restoring deposed Chief Justice and said that it will bring stability in the country.
