Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has reiterated his resolve to take missing people cases along with National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to the Supreme Court to get missing people recovered and bring the looted wealth back to the country.
"After restoration of Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, the nation is hopeful of resolving all the cases that have been shelved", said Imran Khan while addressing a press conference here on Monday. Khan said that PTI would also register FIR against the police officials who ransacked his partys central secretariat on Saturday and impounded equipment worth Rs 20 million.
"On Saturday morning the police officials raided the party secretariat and took away furniture, computers, DVD players, Plasma TV, printers and scanners", he said. It is pertinent to mention that the equipment impounded by Islamabad police from PTI Secretariat is being sold in the market.
The PTI activists have claimed to have received a number of calls from the shopkeepers of Aabpara market, informing them that a large number of electronic goods having PTI tags have been brought to their shops by the Islamabad police for selling. However, when the police heard them sharing this news with PTI men, they ran away from the spot.
Khan termed the reinstatement of Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry as a first step towards establishing rule of law. "It was encouraging to observe that masses across the country came on the streets for restoration of judiciary", he said.
He said that the decision of restoring chief justice was taken when people were marching towards Islamabad. "I am proud to see that my nation got up at the right time and showed their full determination and support for restoration of sacked judiciary", Khan added.
He said that any deal with the government regarding the CJ restoration will not be acceptable at any cost. By retaining Dogar as Chief Justice, the present government clearly reflected that it followed the footsteps of Musharaf. He said that CJ has been reinstated through power of masses. Replying to a question regarding the imposition of governors rule in Punjab, he said that it was a wrong decision and unconstitutional.
"There is no justification of imposing governors rule in Punjab and we are hopeful that soon it will come to an end", Khan maintained. About his hiding to avoid arrest before the sit-in, he replied that it was done according to the plan. "We had decided that Nawaz Sharif will led the long march caravan from Lahore whereas I , Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Shahbaz Sharif would join it from Rawalpindi", Khan maintained.
