National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has signed an agreement with MCB Ltd for provision of online banking facility to e-Sahulat franchisees of the Authority across the Pakistan. Under this agreement the MCB Bank will provide the facility recharging of the account to Nadra e-Sahulat franchisees, through its 750 online branches across the country.
The agreement was signed between Nadra Technologies Limited (NTL) and MCB Bank in a ceremony held at Nadra headquarters, Islamabad here Wednesday. The Deputy Chairman Nadra, Tariq Malik speaking on the occasion said that, NTL has successfully managed 32 million transactions with cash inflow of Rs 18.9 billion so far, while the cash inflow of current month is around Rs 3.5 billion and this traffic can be grabbed by MCB bank with smooth and efficient services.
The MCB Bank representative Muhtasim Asahi said that MCB Bank would provide the MIS alerts against the transactions carried at any of symbol branches through secure and automated process. MCB Bank has the unique advantage of having 750 online branches which will facilitate the franchisees of e-Sahulat to recharge their accounts after one hour of deposit, he said, adding that the MCB Bank will provide the MIS alerts after every hour against the transactions carried at any of symbol branches through secure and automated process.
These e-Sahulat outlets are deployed throughout Pakistan with 60 percent in Punjab, 10 per cent in Sindh, 7 percent in NWFP, 2 percent in Balochistan and 21 percent in Islamabad and Rawalpindi and adjoining areas. E-Sahulat architecture allows utility bills to be paid from anywhere in the country, giving enormous flexibility to the customers. Besides bill payment, scratch cards of mobile phones and calling cards can be obtained and particulars of any citizen can be verified.
NTL has a well-established network of more than 2500 online touch-points making it one of the largest online payment service systems, spread throughout the regional boundaries of the country.
To further expand the e-Sahulat network NTL is launching Phase-II with the particular focus on Sindh in near future and this phase will be launched from Karachi. It is expected that second phase launch will help small businessmen to earn their livelihood with dignity and honour while greatly facilitating the public in utility bill payments.
