The rupee was unchanged against dollar on the interbank market on Wednesday as a result of smooth supply of the US currency, they said. The rupee was trading at 80.35 and 80.40 versus the greenback for buying and selling, respectively.
In the third session of the Asian trading euro held close to a recent one-month high on dollar and briefly forged to an 11-week peak against yen, buoyed by improved investor confidence after surprisingly upbeat US and German data. The yen showed limited reaction to the Bank of Japans decision to hold interest rates steady at 0.10 percent and increase its outright JGB buying to 1.8 trillion yen ($18.28 billion) per month from 1.4 trillion yen.
OPEN MARKET RATES: Balanced demand and supply of dollars did not allow the rupee to look any side against the greenback for buying and selling at 80.20 and 80.50, they said. The rupee, however, shed 30 paisa versus the euro for buying at Rs 104.00, it also lost 50 paisa for selling at Rs 105.00, they added.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee showed stability and remained unchanged on buying side while it gained 10 paisa on selling side in relation to dollar at Lahore currency market on Wednesday.The dollar witnessed marginal decline in its demand that helped the rupee improve its worth. The dollar slid down and closed at Rs 80.20 and Rs 80.50 as compared to Tuesdays Rs 80.20 and Rs 80.60 on buying and selling sides, respectively. Similarly, the rupee maintained upward trend and improved its value against the British pound. The pounds buying and selling rates slipped from day earlier closing of Rs 112.50 and Rs 113.50 to Rs 111.50 and Rs 112.50, currency dealers said.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar-rupee parity remained unchanged at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Wednesday. The dollar opened at Rs 80.20 (buying) and Rs 80.30 (selling) against the same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 80.20 (buying) and Rs 80.30 (selling). Pound Sterling opened at Rs 113 (buying) and Rs 114 (selling) against the same last rate. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 113 (buying) and Rs 114 (selling).
