The Economic Co-ordination Committee was informed on Thursday that foreign direct investment (FDI) during July-January, 2008-09 amounted to 2587.7 million dollars, registering a healthy growth of 1.3 percent compared with the last years period under review.
In marked contrast, the State Bank of Pakistan reported that the FDI declined by 34 percent between July-February 2009 in comparison to the corresponding period last year.
