The present government is taking steps for the provision of due facilities to the inmates of the jails. This was stated by the Federal Minister for Human Rights, Syed Mumtaz Alam Gilani after a meeting with the Senior Minister of Sindh, Pir Mazhar ul Haq, here on Sunday.
Gilani further pointed out that changes would be brought about in the jail manual and it would be ensured that the human rights of the inmates are protected.
He further stated that the legislation would be undertaken so that there could be no inhuman treatment to the inmates of the jails. Pir Mazhar ul Haq said on the occasion that the present government was undertaking serious steps for the jail reforms.
He said that the formation of the national task force by the federal government was a step in this very direction. Pir Mazhar further stated that all the provinces have been given equal representation in this connection. He said that suggestions have prepared towards the provision of due facilities to the inmates of the jails.
