Generally weaker trend was marked on the commodity wholesale markets where Irri white, maize, jawar, gram dal imported, tea were lower while commodities like Irri 6 Sindh, rapeseed cakes stayed firmer, during the week ended on March 21, 2009.
On the opening session on grain market Irri -6 Sindh rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2700, rapeseed Mirpur better type rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1435 while the other type stayed put at Rs 1400, rapeseed low type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 625 while better type was up Rs 20 to Rs 630, castorseed Lasbela up by Rs 25 to Rs 1050, while low type was put at Rs 1000, and castorseed Sindh was up Rs 50 to Rs 1000.
On Jodia Bazaar Kenyan tea diamond; Kenyan tea (per kg) PF-1 A grade shed Rs 15 to Rs 275, B grade lost Rs 17 ot Rs 268, and plus C shed Rs 13 to Rs 260, BP-1 A grade lost Rs 15 to Rs 285, B grade shed Rs 15 to Rs 270, and plus C grade lost Rs 5 to Rs 260, D-1 A grade shed Rs 5 to Rs 390, B grade shed Rs 5 to Rs 270, plus C grade shed Rs 5 to Rs 250 and C grade lost Rs 10 to Rs 200.
On Tuesday Irri while low type lost Rs 400 to Rs 1200 while other type shed Rs 100 to Rs 1600, gram dal from Australia low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 3600, while other type shed Rs 50 to Rs 3800, yellow peas Canada inferior type retreated by Rs 100 to Rs 2400 while the other type shed Rs 250 to Rs 2850, yellow peas dal Canada lost Rs 100 to Rs 2700 while the better type lost Rs 50 to Rs 2850 til low type rose by Rs 250 to Rs 3600, while other type was up Rs 200 to Rs 3800, makai shed Rs 200 to Rs 1050, juwar dropped Rs 400 to Rs 1000, urad Burma low type shed Rs 50 to Rs 1650, while better type shed Rs 100 to Rs 2100, wheat old and new with bardana rose by Rs 50 to RS 2450 while better type was quoted at Rs 2465.
On Wednesday wheat old and new moved higher by Rs 25 to Rs 2475 while the other was quoted at Rs 2490 and juwar fell by Rs 200 to Rs 1200. rapeseed Nawabshah rose by Rs 40 to Rs 1440 while the other type was quoted at Rs 1450, mirpur inferior type rose by Rs 30 to Rs 1430 while other type was up by Rs 25 to Rs 1450, cotton cakes in Sindh with bag low type rose by Rs 20 to Rs 1000 and superior type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1025.
On Jodia Bazaar plastic mouldings compound: (per Lb) HDPE film Saudis 952 rose by Re 1 to Rs 45, Mobil rose by Re 1 to Rs 45, and TR 144 rose by Re 1 to Rs 45, HDPE injection Sabic 200056 rose by Re 1 to Rs 47, Mobil 016 rose by Re 1 to Rs 47, Mobil 016 roe by Re 1 to Rs 47 and Iran was quoted at Rs 45, LDPE 374 rose by Rs 2.50 to Rs 49, MG 20 rose by Re 1 to Rs 56 and MG 70 rose by Re 1 to Rs 61. LLDPE W118 rose by Re 1 to Rs 45, 7087 rose by Re 1 to Rs 45, Sabic 200026 rose by Rs 2 to Rs 60, polypropylene tape grade India rose by Rs 2 to Rs 44, Kuwait rose by Re 1 to Rs 43 and Saudia was up by Re one to Rs 43. Polypropylene injection grade Saudia rose by Rs 2 to Rs 44, India rose by Rs 3 to Rs 45 and Kuwati closed higher by Rs 2 to Rs 44.
On Thursday wheat old and new conceded Rs 25 to Rs 2450 and Rs 2465, makai was down at Rs 1275 while the other kind was quoted at Rs 1288, juwar was traded at Rs 1050 and 1100, Irri 6 Sindh was weaker by Rs 50 to Rs 2650, Irri white broken low type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 1250 while other type was quoted at Rs 1275 after shedding RS 325, cotton seed oil cakes low quality shed Rs 25 to Rs 775 while better type shed Rs 50 to Rs 800, cotton cakes with bag in Sindh rose by Rs 15 to Rs 1040 while the other type was put at Rs 1000.
On Jodia Bazaar per Kg China tea black BoP close lower by Rs 5 to Rs 75, good PF shed same amount to Rs 70. Kenyan tea dust A grade shed Rs 15 to Rs 210, B grade shed Rs 10 to Rs 200, Plus C grade lower by Rs 5 to Rs 170, Tanzania PF-1 (CTC) lost Rs 5 to Rs 170, BP 1 (CTC) rose by Rs 5 to Rs 175 and PD (CTC) quoted at Rs 170.
On Friday no price change was reported for almost all the participants, as usual, were busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazaar Ceylon raw rubber prices moved both ways. The changes were: CEYLON RAW RUBBER (Per lb): Merryrub (Equivalent to RSS3) edged lower by Rs 4 to Rs 56, RSSV finished down by Rs 3 to Rs 57, Merryrub (Equivalent to Crape) moved downward by Re 1 to Rs 59 and Pale Crape TPC3 went lower by Re 1 to Rs 59.
LATEX: Merrytax (28 kg) finished higher by Rs 10 to Rs 450, Semnan Tex closed up by Rs 10 to Rs 450 and Thai (GT) went higher by Rs 10 to Rs 450.
On Saturday most of the buyers kept on the sidelines on perception of further fall in the rates. Wheat old and new both types were lower by Rs 10 to Rs 2440-2455, bajra low type shed Rs 50 to Rs 1525. Sugar inferior type was down by Rs 80 to Rs 4100. Cottonseed oilcake with bag Punjab new low type was up by Rs 25 to Rs 800 and best type was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 850, cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low type gained Rs 30 to Rs 1030 and good type rose by Rs 20 to Rs 1060.
On Jodia Bazaar milk powder closed lower .The changes were: MILK POWDER SKIMMED (Per bag of 25 kgs): Irish skimmed was quoted at Rs 6,750 and olden burger edged down by Rs 400 to Rs 6000.
VEGETABLE: Haleeb Veg moved downward by Rs 200 to 5,900.
SWEETENED (Per carton): King was quoted at Rs 2,100 and Polac went lower by Rs 50 to Rs 2,650.
