World Water Day was observed across Azad Jammu and Kashmir with the reiteration of fullest resolve to perform individual and collective responsibility to save water besides to encourage the sincere efforts at the national level for the establishment of more water reservoirs to meet the future needs of water for the speedy progress and prosperity of the country.
Special ceremonies were held in various parts of AJK to observe the Universal Water Day. Addressing the ceremonies the speakers called for focusing fullest attention to establish more water reservoirs in Pakistan to meet the present and future water requirements for bringing more progress and prosperity in the country.
In Mirpur, a special ceremony was held in connection with the world "Water Day" here Sunday under the auspices of AJK Anglers Association with AJK minister for tourism Tahir Khokhar in the chair. Special walk started from Bhutto Park in the city was the major event to observe the day.
Addressing the ceremony speakers, including the chief guest AJK minister for tourism sports and culture Tahir Khokhar, President AJK Anglers Association Ramzan Dutt Advocate as well as water experts from various parts of AJK and others delivered special lectures for the active individual and collective role for protection of Water, Wild Life, Tourism Development and Environment Conservation besides for boosting maximum water resources for the overall economic progress and prosperity of the country including AJK.
