President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa has extended greetings to President Asif Ali Zardari on the occasion of National Day of Pakistan being celebrated on March 23.
In his message to President Asif Ali Zardari, the President of Sri Lanka said, "On the happy occasion of the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, it gives me great pleasure to extend to your excellency, the government and the people of Pakistan sincere greetings and warm felicitations of the government and the people of Sri Lanka and those of mine."
The Sri Lankan President in his message further said, "The close relations between our two countries are a clear manifestation of the enduring friendship, mutual understanding and co-operation that exists between Sri Lanka and Pakistan."
He further said, "I am confident that the bonds of friendship and co-operation that so happily exist between our countries will be further strengthened in the years ahead for the mutual benefit of our two peoples."
The Sri Lankan President also expressed his wishes for good health, happiness and personal well being of President Asif Ali Zardari for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan.
