The NWFP Governor, Owais Ahmed Ghani has called upon the countrymen to renew their commitment in line with the goals, set by our forefathers for the creation of Pakistan. In a message on the occasion of Pakistan Day, the Governor said, Today, the citizens of the motherland are observing Pakistan Day with due zeal and spirit.
I congratulate all the countrymen, especially the people of NWFP and Fata on this auspicious occasion. On this day, in 1940, the Muslims of South Asia took a historical decision in the shape of Pakistan Resolution to create a separate homeland for themselves. This resolution, in fact, reflected their vision and dreams for a bright future for their coming generations and within a short span of seven years, which was translated into reality.
The entire history of Pakistan is replete with many trials and tribulations bringing tremendous difficulties and great challenges.
Pakistan has uniqueness over other Islamic countries of the world mainly because of two factors. Firstly, it was created on the basis of Islamic Ideology instead of racial, geographical or historical factors and secondly, Pakistan has become a nuclear and military power through its own efforts and by applying indigenous resources, he said. As a result, the entire Muslim world looks to Pakistan for future leadership for the Ummah. This year, Pakistan Day is being observed at a time when the country is stepping into a new era of its history. We are confronted with the
challenges to consolidate democracy, ensure socio-economic well being of the people, restore the image of the country and continue with the struggle to make its security and stability impregnable, the governor added.
Further, The day provides us an opportunity to re-affirm our commitment to maintain complete unity and solidarity in our ranks at every level, work for development and stability of the country, said and urged people to renew their commitment in line with the goals set by our forefathers.
