Dr Faqir Hussain has assumed the charge of the office of Registrar Supreme Court of Pakistan here Sunday. The previous Registrar Raja Lehrasab Khan has been repatriated to his parent department.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has appointed Dr Faqir Hussain as Registrar Supreme Court of Pakistan in BPS-22 with immediate effect, says a press release here. He served as Registrar with Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry from July 1, 2005 until March 9, 2007. He left the post when reference was filed against Chief Justice of Pakistan.
He was again appointed as Registrar of Supreme Court on July 20, 2007, the day Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was restored as a result of the judgement of the Supreme Court. Again on November 3, 2007, with promulgation of emergency he was removed from his post. Dr Faqir Hussain holds PhD degree in constitutional Law. He also completed Post-Doctoral Fellowship from University of London. He also holds LLM degree from University of London and he did his LLB and M.A. with "Political Science" from University of Peshawar.-PR
