President of Shujaat Hussain PML-Q has said that his party will remain impartial in the ongoing efforts for government formation in Punjab and will perform its positive role while sitting on opposition benches.
He was talking to media persons here on Sunday after PML-Q central executive committee (CEC) meeting. Pervaiz Ellahi, Mushahid Hussain and other leaders were also present on the occasion. Shujaaat said that PML-N and PPP were throwing the peoples problems in the background.
Regard the outcome of the CEC meeting, Mushahid said that four resolutions were presented in the meeting and it was unanimously decided that CEC meeting would be held in each province. He said that PML-Q had welcomed the restoration of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and hoped that supremacy of law would be established following his (CJ) restoration.
He said that the entire nation, with one voice, condemns the threat of drone attacks in Balochistan. PML-Q demands end of price hikes, load shedding and horse trading. He alleged that the government itself had started horse trading, and this would not take the vehicle of democracy ahead.
He said that PML-Q mandates in Punjab, NWFP and Balochistan should be respected. He said that ML-Q would play the role of an impartial strong opposition.
Pervaiz Elahi, President of Punjab PML-Q, said that show-cause notices would be issued to those changing loyalties, and added that his party had no lust for power and would remain in opposition and would work for the betterment of the nation and the country. He said that political parties, talking about Charter of Democracy (CoD), should respect the mandate of other political parties.
