Like other parts of the country, the Pakistan Day was celebrated with full enthusiasm and traditional zeal in Malakand Agency, Dir Upper, Dir Lower, Bunner, Shangla and Swat districts with a pledge to make Pakistan a modern, progressive and democratic Muslim welfare state.
The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for the progress, integrity and prosperity of the country. The Ulema and Khateeb also offered Special "Dua" for establishment of permanent peace in Swat and independence of Muslims Occupied territories in the world. Declamation contests were also held among students in various government and private schools and colleges to highlight the significance of the day.
