Former Justice Hamid Ali Mirza took oath as Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan here on Tuesday. Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry administered the oath to Former Justice Hamid Ali Mirza at a ceremony held in the Supreme Court Building.
Judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Attorney General for Pakistan, Federal Law Secretary, Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan and other prominent lawyers and law officers attended the ceremony. Dr Faqir Hussain Registrar, Supreme Court of Pakistan conducted the proceedings of oath taking ceremony. Other Officers and staff of the Supreme Court of Pakistan also attended the ceremony.
