The Ministry of Zakat and Ushr has released Rs 91.037 million as the first instalment of regular budget for the year 2006-09 for Balochistan. The fund has been allocated from Central Zakat Fund for the Provincial Zakat of Balochistan for the destitute, needy, poor and marginalised segments of the society.
According to the data released by the Ministry Rs 54.623 million for Guzara allowance, Rs 16.387 million as educational stipends, Rs 7,283 million as stipend for the students of Deeni Madaras. Rs 5.462 million for healthcare, Rs 3.64 million for social welfare and rehabilitation and Rs 3.641 million as assistance to unmarried women.
Zakat system throughout the country has been initiated after the enforcement of Zakat Ordinance in 1980 for Provision and disbursement of Zakat among the destitute, poor and marginalised segments of the society for eradication of poverty and unemployment in the country.
