A five-day University festival 2009 of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) is going to begin from Friday (today), which will be inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of the UAF, Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. In this connection all organising committees have finalised all necessary arrangements to make the event a success.
As per detail on first day a Horse & Cattle show would be inaugurated, in which horse riders from across the country will participate in such mega event of the festival, moreover beauty and milking productivity contest would be the part of this event.
Furthermore, the university administration has arranged a food street of rural and continental dishes to provide exotic taste to the visitors in a cordial and rural environment that is also one of the salient features of the event. Qiraat & Naat club will organise a Mehfil-e-Milaad, in which renowned Naat Khawan, Professor Abdul Rauf Roofi, will recite Naats.
While on the second day of the festival, on 28th March 2009, Exhibition and Flower show will be inaugurated by Brian D Hunt, Principal Officer American Consulate, Lahore. During such a colourful five-day festival, Kisan Mela, flower exhibition, 56th Alumni meet, mushaira, cultural show, sports activities and family show will be held.
Minister for State for Information and Broadcasting, Syed Samsam Ali Bukhari, will be the chief guest of world water day seminar, which will be organised by WMRC on the last day of the festival, while Raja Zulqarnain Khan president Azad Jammu and Kashmir will be the chief guest of prize distribution ceremony will be held on 31st March.
