University of Manchester has awarded PhD degree in computation to a Pakistani student of Bahria University, Shehzad Khalid . Shehzad Khalid son of journalist Hanif Khalid has achieved this remarkable success by attending the university as regular student for four years.
He believes that by attaining this achievement, he has contributed towards improvement of the image of Pakistani students abroad. Earlier, Shehzad earned the scholarship of Higher Education Commission by competing with thousands of Pakistani students. Before this, he was awarded Masters degree in software engineering by National University of Sciences and Technology, Rawalpindi with distinction.
After his preliminary education at Islamabad International Public School and Islamabad Model College for Boys F-8/4, Shehzad got his Bachelors degree in computer system engineering from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Topi.
He has to his credit first division throughout his academic career. For PhD from the University of Manchester, the topic of Shehzad Khalids research was Motion Classification Using Spatio-Temporal Approximation of Object Trajectories. He is one of the few Pakistani students who have been awarded degree in this specialisation by a well-reputed foreign university.
During his PhD, he managed to present and publish 12 research papers in reputed conferences and journals. He also presented papers in different conferences held in Ireland, England, Holland, Singapore and the US. All colleagues of Shehzad Khalid and Bahria University administration have congratulated him on this remarkable achievement.
