The British Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, while condemning the terror attack in Lahore said the incident is yet another reminder of the threat Pakistan faces from violent extremism. In a statement issued by the Foreign and Commonwealth office, he urged the international community to help Pakistan tackle this scourge saying that such assistance is in the interest of both Pakistans people and of wider stability.
It is deeply saddening that Pakistan has today suffered another deadly attack, this time against people dedicated to protecting Pakistans security, he said. We condemn the attack unreservedly and extend our sympathies to the families of the victims, he added.
Miliband said, The attack is yet another reminder of the threat that Pakistan faces from violent extremism. It is a threat that the international community must help Pakistan to tackle, in the interests both of Pakistans people and of wider stability.
