The funeral prayers of the seven policeman, who were killed in Monday brazen terrorist attack on Police Training Centre, Manawan, were offered here on Tuesday.
Governor Punjab Salman Taseer, Federal Minister Manzoor Watto, Punjab Inspector General of Police, Khawaja Kahlid Farooq, Capital City Police Officer Haji Habib-ul-Rehman including other high officials besides the relatives of the martyrs and a large number of citizens, officer bearers, workers and leaders of the various social and political parties attended the funeral prayer held at the Qurban Police Line.
After the funeral prayer, a guard of honour was presented to the martyred and Punjab Governor laid floral wreathes on coffins of the martyrs. Foolproof security arrangements were made on the occasion, as the policemen were posted on the rooftops in the surroundings buildings and all those coming to attend the prayers were being frisked.
