Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has approved the new parliamentary calendar according to which, the National Assembly will start its first session from April 27 instead of already announced April 9.
Confirming the approval of the calendar, advisor of the ministry for parliamentary affairs Izhar Amrohvi said that before getting the approval, amendment was made in the compiled calendar according to which the session scheduled for April 9 will now be held on April 27.
According to the calendar, the pre-budget session will be held during the month of May whereas the budget session, for presenting the national budget for the financial year of 2009-10, will be held from June 1 to 30 while the final session of the second parliamentary year will be held from February 8 to 19, 2010.
The government will ensure that the assembly must fulfil the mandatory 130 days in the session in second parliamentary year. The National Assembly will meet the requirement by sitting in 10 sessions, according to the new parliamentary calendar.
