Rates moved both ways on the currency market on Friday in process of trading, dealers said. On the interbank market the rupee was intact versus dollar for buying at 80.50 while it gained five paisa for selling at 8.55, they added.
At the final session of the week yen and dollar trimmed losses after hitting multi-month lows on renewed risk appetite, as caution set in ahead of US employment figures due later in the day. G20 leaders clinched a $1.1 trillion deal on Thursday to counter the world wide economic crisis and the United States said it would change accounting rules to allow banks more flexibility in valuing toxic assets.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee shed fove paisa against dollar for buying at 80.45 while it rose by 10 paisa for selling at 80.60, they said. The rupee continued its weakness versus euro falling Rs 1.05 for buying and selling at Rs 107.25 and Rs 108.25, they added.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged amid low trading in Lahore currency market on Friday.According to currency dealers, there was no change in the demand for dollars and supply situation which helped rupee stability. The dollar was traded at overnight Rs 80.50 and Rs 80.80 as its buying and selling rates, respectively. The dollar witnessed fractional change in its value during the day but finally closed at the opening level, dealers said. On the contrary, the rupee slipped against pound sterling. The pounds buying and selling rates improved to Rs 117.75 and Rs 118.50 as compared to Thursday closing of Rs 116.50 and Rs 118.00, respectively.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The value of dollar against rupee remained unchanged at the currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Friday. The dollar opened at Rs 80.30 (for buying) and Rs 80.40 (for selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 80.30 (buying) and Rs 80.40 (selling). Pound sterling opened at Rs 113 (buying) and Rs 114 (selling) against same previous rate. It did not observe further fluctuation by the end of evening session and closed at Rs 113 (buying) and Rs 114 (selling).
